Deptford is Changing, produced and published by Anita Strasser as part of her AHRC-funded PhD in Visual Sociology at Goldsmiths, is a collaborative research project that, together with local residents of Deptford, south-east London, researches and highlights the impact of gentrification and austerity politics on working-class residents.

It uses a variety of creative and participatory research methods such as photography, drawing, building models, writing, workshops and walks, as well as interviews, focus groups and discussions, to enable different kinds of responses and the participation of a wide range of people. This project has worked with children, young adults, adults, elderly persons, homeless people, people with disabilities and mental health issues, housing campaigners and activists, from a variety of ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. It tells their personal experience of the housing crisis and gentrification.
