Glimmer and the Goddess (2018)
By R.M. Sànchez-Camus
A project exploring the collection of the Horniman Museum looking at the theme of animism and working with community members, hospice patients, bereaved family members, primary school children to create a large-scale public performance work.
The mantle was created through dry felting over four months and the mask head was created with willow, shells, beads and collage. The performance created a storyline with folk song about journeys to the unknown understanding the journey is the destination.
